POP3 PERMANENT INTERNET MAILBOX
Setup for your computer using Microsoft Exchange

The POP3 Permanent Internet Mailbox allows you to send and receive mail using an anonymous ID. Some users will want to continue using their original mailbox for business purposes, and use the POP3 Mailbox for personal use. If you are using both, please make sure you check your MAIL PREFERENCES before sending mail, to ensure you are sending your mail out under the name you wish to use for the post.

EXAMPLE: Let's say your new POP3 Permanent Internet Mailbox is listed in the name of archie@pop3.com. (This is a ficticious example.) The MAIL PREFERENCES must be changed by accessing :

TOOLS MENU:
     Select SERVICES
          Internet Mail
              Click on PROPERTIES to open

          PERSONAL INFORMATION:
             Full name = archie
             email address = archie@pop3.com
          MAILBOX INFORMATION:
             Internet mail server = pop3.com
             Account name = archie
Password = ****** (Put your password in)

             Click on ADVANCED OPTIONS
Forward all outbound mail to the following mail server:
                  pop3.com

These settings will post mail as archie@pop3.com. Please make sure your settings are correct before posting mail, if you are using more than one identity and/or mail server. We recommend posting a test to alt.test newsgroup before using your POP3 mailbox if you are unfamiliar with these procedures.
